Does any one know why this is happening. It says \"out of memory\" but I have 3 gigs of ram and blender is only using about 40 meg

Is it possible that you were running something CPU-intensive at the time? It looks like your BOINC manager was unable to communicate with the renderer for more than the 30 seconds and assumed it had failed. I\'ve had that happen on my machines when I\'ve been, for instance, rendering something in Blender. I\'ve got 3 gigs as well and get the same message; it\'s probably a red herring in this case.

I\'ve got indications from the BOINC team that they may be changing the hearthbeat functionality in the future. It came up once or twice in discussions regarding networking and similar features of the BOINC client that the client \"locks\" while waiting for other stuff and therefore can randomly \"forget\" to send the heartbeats to the running applications.
