Welcome to the new site, it's still being configured so please stay patient while the remaining bugs are ironed out.

In the first few weeks things are going to look slightly weird or stop working from time to time. Hopefully we should be properly up and running within a few months.

During this time it is unlikely that sessions will be accepted. The system may, however, generate some workunits to fill out missing parts of old sessions.

During this migration process it is likely that clients will not be able to connect. This whole deal is expected to take up towards a month or so.

Looks like we might have some progress :-) Clients are connecting, so the server seems to be up, just no work yet.

Looking forward to getting some serious crunching done again soon :-)

It appears that I cannot submit a session because my email address has not been verified. I clicked the "verify email address" link several times, but I never received any emails with the code.

Also, I cannot find any work to do.

There won't be any work until the server migration is complete... Not sure when that will be, but stay tuned.

Hey everyone, I am just wondering if there is an update? Any idea how long until the site is running again? Is ORE more your focus ATM Janus?

~Lots of little questions, Istvan.

I talked to the ORE people about a month ago and they still had some issues displaying the video content in their custom website frontend. They are using Flowplayer and so are we, so it's a little strange.

I'll be spending most of today working on BURP but this is going to be a rarity I'm afraid. My job is related to programming and system architecture design, so when I get home after a day of work I'm usually not in the mood for more programming.
The site will eventually start moving, you should just expect a factor 10 slowdown of development.

Thanks Janus for the update. All the work you do on Burp is much appreciated by all of us. I'm looking ford to crunching for Burp again. I've also joined ORE, I'm yet to receive work from there but Janus's post explains why that is.
Thanks again.

Sad that we won't be looking at crunching anytime soon, but I understand the need to prioritize your life. Maybe there could be some help from the community? I would think that anyone qualified to help out would have already offered, but I can't say that for sure.

Sorry for bugging again: any updates Janus? I understand that you are hard at work but I was just wondering how far away until we can start submitting .blend files to render.

thanks!

The server is scheduled for a storage upgrade and reconfiguration starting around the 20-25 of Jan and lasting for some weeks (the site should be up most of the time).
After that people who have not yet visited the thread about new licenses will receive an email with roughly the same contents.
Sending out the mails will take some time and I expect to spend about a week afterwards getting the mailserver unlisted from random spam blacklists around the world.
Once that's done we should be able to fire up a version of the site where sessions with .blends smaller than 2MB get pushed to the farm through the primary pipe and later on a revision where bigger files go through the mirror network. It will take some time to get the mirror network up and running again, though. Exactly how things will turn out is still in the unknown.

Already a lot of help and support has been given by the community - thanks a lot for that! Also, the Renderfarm.fi project has been sending in patches relating to the new Blender 2.50 already before it is released; along with some interesting news about direct integration into the Blender UI.

So, let get it clear: We'll start in this year's second month with BURP WUs in our BOINC? :D *yeayeayeah* ;)

Hi There,

it's been awhile again... sorry for being a pest but how is project going? The site is a little difficult for me to navigate and its hard to tell whether I can start uploading/downloading work anytime soon.

Thanks!
