Today i´ve got my first BURP-WUs. :-)

But after a few minutes it was already over. :-(

"Message from server:(daily quota of 20 WU reached)
No work from project"

Is it possible to increase this daily quota, because 20 WU is only work for an hour or two?

Greetings
Sven Giese

The 20 WU daily quota is there for two reasons:

1) To avoid runaway clients quickly running trough the entire work queue and trashing each unit.

2) To broaden the number of different computer systems that get a workunit and produce the very valuable debugging information needed to improve the client. This also means that as many people as possible try the "feeling" of getting a BURP WU.

At the moment we are running pretty small frames which only take around 10 mins/frame. Some of the more interesting sessions have frames that use several hours per frame. 20 of those should be enough to keep you busy. But please remember what we are doing right now: The current sessions aren't there to look pretty (they usually do but that's beside the point) or to keep your computer busy - they are there to test some particular aspect of the system. Making work simply to keep the network busy is against one of the very fundamental design decisions in any BOINC project; that projects share the computing power and only use what they need to accomplish their goal.
