Hi

In fact it is even worse than that. A new Blender.exe started after BOINC was exited and closed. I have XP SP2 on
OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600
OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation
System Type X86-based PC
Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 9 GenuineIntel ~2593 Mhz
Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 9 GenuineIntel ~2593 Mhz

and I am looking in Task manager and there are two Blenders running.

I exited BOINC at 2005-06-28 14:51:32 [---] Exit requested by user.

It is now 15:00.

I didn't have 2 blenders (yet?) but when I stopped boinc when BURP was at 90% and then started it again the WU was restarted from 0% :(

When boinc was shutdown, I has the blender process still happily running too. :(

Hi

I just looked at the other PC that can run BURP and BOINC shows Two Blender 4.19 running, in Task Manager there are three Blender.exe running and the CPU is devided amonst the three so that they are 44%, 29% and 27%.

What is the 3 rd Blender.exe processing if there are only two blender_4.19_windows_intel86.exe running ???/

I am using BOINC version 4.45

I'm having similar problems, though it apparently isn't happening to every workunit. The last unit I tried to crunch (131in0.zip__ses0000000131_frm0000000225.wu) seemed to cause blender.exe to spiral out of control and take over 100% of processor, effectively stopping any workunits from being processed. It remains loaded even when BOINC is shut down, and must be manually killed.

Apparently, that particular workunit is causing a large number of people to have problems, or at least thats the way it looks.

And I'll second the problem with suspend resetting to zero.

<p />
blender_4.19_windows_intel86.exe is a wrapper/boinc client for blender.exe. Boinc.exe starts blender_4.19_windows_intel86.exe which in turns starts blender.exe

I had a similar issue last night. I wanted to shutdown and as usual I exit BOINC first just to make sure the application is closed down correctly before Windows XP is doing it.
The BURP WU 131 just continued, but I left it for a few minutes to settle down, but that did not happen. Then I had to force it down and I have never seen that WU again.
This morning I checked my status page and saw the status as "Client error" with 0.52 seconds of CPU time. The WU had been running for hours the days before.
I am running Windows XP SP2, BOINC 4.45, Intel P4 2.4G HT, 1.5G Memory.
