I've been noticing a number of workunits I've been crunching have been marked as invalid, sometimes with other computers, sometimes just mine being invalidated. Any idea what causes this? Anything I can do about it? Computer ID is 52258.

A list of the 10 latest ones to be invalidated:

Some of those workunits show a really weird problem: it seems that the server is (correctly) sending out 3 copies of the workunit, the results are returned but then something happens that makes it flag one result as invalid and complete the workunit...

It is not supposed to be able to do that. It should either (A) flag the result as invalid and send out another copy of the workunit to gain a quorum of 3 OR (B) mark all the results as valid and complete the workunit. Not a combination of both...
The result does actually seem to be valid, though.

Apparently this is not just happening for Sunflower sessions but has been happening in older sessions as well. It is going to take a while to figure out the scale of it, the reason for it, the fix and finally to retroactively grant credit for this (luckily validation info and workunit data is stored forever, so the last part can be made an automated process).

I can't promise when this will be done, but there will be a post about it in this thread when it is.
