Hi, I have setup BOINC on my machine with OSX Yosemite. When I update the BURP project using the BOINC manager then computing preferences are loaded correctly. However, it does not download any tasks, even though there should be tasks available. I checked that on the serverstatus page on the site. It says that there are 498 tasks in progress and 140 tasks ready to send. I would love to help the project so I can use it to make my own renders. I already did two test renders but I do feel guilty that I can't contribute to the project. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, CodeR70 |

Hi, welcome to BURP. I have setup BOINC on my machine with OSX Yosemite.Apparently you are using a Mac. Unfortunately this project doesn't support Macs and has no apps for it. Life is Science, and Science rules. To the universe and beyond Proud member of BOINC@Heidelberg My BOINC-Stats ![]() |

Yes, there's a Linux app, but there can be a lot of troubles to get it going as far as I know and readed in the past. But you can give it a try. Life is Science, and Science rules. To the universe and beyond Proud member of BOINC@Heidelberg My BOINC-Stats ![]() |

So in other words, windows is the only real option? That's a bit disappointing to be honest. Anyway, thanks for the quick response. |

I've got a Mac too. I wish I could help with it, I don't use windows though, so I guess I can't. Thanks! This was helpful to me too. |

Unfortunately this project doesn't support Macs and has no apps for it. Doesn't officially support Mac. As far as I know the Mac clients work just fine (for example renderfarm.fi is using them) we just can't legally build them for you. There is an unfortunate (intentional?) wording in the OS X licensing explicitly forbidding us to run it on VMs on non-Apple hardware and forbidden us to access it remotely over the network on real hardware. |

Good old licensing terms... Surely, there's someone with the experience and equipment necessary to make this happen? Click here to see My Detailed BOINC Stats ![]() |

i'm doing anything worng ? Probably not. Last week wasn't much work here, only small sessions, and some of them were for Linux. If you don't know it yet, you can check the server status regularly, available in the menu to the left. It is shown there which OS is used. Life is Science, and Science rules. If you have a look at the other active threads, it sounds like this session is going too fast for the back-end to keep up. Click here to see My Detailed BOINC Stats ![]() |
