As I accidentally found a host which only returns errors continuously I thought it could be a good idea to make a thread to post them. Maybe it would be a good idea to inform the owners about it, they obviously don't recognize what's going on. First one is a user named davidfg4 with 4 Linux hosts - they all only return errors since months obviously: 63715, 63716, 63717, 63718. Normally there is a limit on how much error results a host can return on the server software side. Doesn't look as if this is the case here, so I guess the server software is a bit old... They can burn through at most 500 units per day. This becomes a lower number (around 2 times the number of cores on the system if I recall correctly) if all they ever return is errors. |

I've observed that a high percentage of users that are trashing work units are anonymous, and seem to be secretly using their work servers to run BOINC on. It could be helpful if the ability to hide your computers was removed from the project preferences, then we could all see who is wasting work, and be easier to contact by PM. The biggest threat to public safety and security is not terrorism, it is Government abuse of authority. ![]() Bitcoin Donations: 1Le52kWoLz42fjfappoBmyg73oyvejKBR3 |

Admins can already see whos computers belong to who, it is not up to members to got witch hunting other members, another reason I'm glad that you can hide your computers. |
