I saw the threat about the post-processed (compressed wus), but I\'d have another question: Is it reasonable that I download a 5 MB wu (session 353) and crunch on a AMD Athlon XP 1800+ for only 5 minutes? This must be a huge waste of bandwidth, if I think about all those duo cores etc.

Are these files we receive compressed, is there any more compression possible? I just wonder, because some people might not be aware of their provider charging extra, if they go over a certain download-limit.

P.S: My result file shows the following (wu was a success and got credit):

[...]

Checking for installed Python... No installed Python found.

Only built-in modules are available. Some scripts may not run.

Continuing happily.

The download size is not for a single WU (or yes it is if you only do one...) - it is for a series of workunits related to the same session.
Ie. the first time you crunch a WU it may download 5MB, the next WU may only need 150 bytes more downloaded to get crunched.

BURP, by definition, is rather network instensive. Actually this is one of the main reasons that people say that internet distributed rendering is impossible. However, during the next few years the average network bandwidth will increase rapidly, so over time this limit will less and less be the case.
