Is there any way to limit the length of a work unit? Im crunching my first WU now and it is quite long... 11% in an hour and a half? Plus the progress went backwards...By the way, does the progress going backwards actually mean anything or is it just aesthetic? Cos it got to 11% then fell down to 0% and now its slowly climbing up again though it hasnt reached it\'s original 11%.

Any ideas? By the way, love this idea :)

This happens with sessions with motion blur turned on.

No it is just an artifact of the reporting of the progress between the various sub-programs.

Good, I tried to stop it manually using killall blender which annoyingly aborted the work unit ><

Killing Blender is always a very bad idea, as it will always result in an aborted workunit.
You can suspend BURP in the boinc manager (or any substitute like BoincView) and later on resume it. Beware that you have to set the option Leave applications in memory while suspended? to YES if you don\'t want to have them aborted.

If you can\'t shorten the workunit can you give a longer deadline. I crunched unit 425784 24-7 and couldn\'t make the deadline.
Check out the forum for Canada the #1 Canadian team.

You should not care to much about the deadline.
The dealine is set so short, to ensure the wu is procedded with high prio.
But burp, does give you credit, if you miss the deadline.
Sometimes there is a problem with \"didn\'t need\" (or similar, canremember exactly), but this is no problem with the current session
