I want to know if it is possible that the project is done by GPU but not CPU? It seems that a GPU is much faster than CPU.(Though it will be a long way)

Burp uses Blender to do all the rendering. So to ask for a GPU rendering solution, you\'d have to change the Blender source code, not BURPs.

Not to mention how much work it will be to write a generalized GPU renderer that is on-par with the current CPU renderer.

The bottom line is, it\'s impossible. At least something like this won\'t happen in the next few years.

See http://burp.boinc.dk/forum_thread.php?id=658

It is happening, but it may be a while before it\'s incorporated into the regular distribution of Blender. Maybe not years, but a while.

The current solution of using Gelato as the renderer has a very limited market. Only NVIDIA users running Geforce 7 or 8 will see a appreciable performance gain from using Gelato. Not to mention it won\'t even run properly on a Geforce 5 or earlier.

It is still immature and has better and official support for maya and 3ds max. Additionally the user base is low so I could\'nt learn through the various message boards!

I\'ve recently bought a G 8500 and gave gelato a shot with a python exporter for blender to gelato.

Not impressed, maybe my setup was wrong but I\'ve seen no significant increase in rendering a cube and it keeps erroring out when I try to export complecitated scenes, for instance, session 450!
