Hi all: Why is session 450 taking so long - seems to be in snooze mode - Can anything be done to speed it up? Mark Reiss ![]() |

I belive Session 450 is in \"snooze mode\" by purpose. I think they are testing the background redering mode. You can read more about it here: http://burp.boinc.dk/forum_thread.php?id=818 |

It is going slowly, but as the previous poster mentioned, it\'s probably on purpose. I\'ve been getting some rather large session 450 WU lately. By large, I mean that it\'s taking over a day to crunch them and I get very close to being late on returning the WU. THis is NOT because of a slow machine, since those that run BURP have at least 1 GB of memory and a P4 or better. I also have some pending credit from over 2 weeks ago for session 450 WU that I\'ve already crunched, but waiting for a 3rd result to compare it to. Since the session is in snooze mode, I guess the scheduler isn\'t in a hurry to send out that extra copy of the WU to complete those WUs. Mark Mark ![]() |

Hi all: Why is session 450 taking so long - seems to be in snooze mode - Can anything be done to speed it up? Motion blur is eating more CPU time than the other settings! |

Got a pair that are about 60% through ...... 30+ hours each :( Windows did it\'s usual trick, and blew out ..... 48 hours on each WU, with 2 & 5 to go :( |

Most work units in session 450 take longer than my MTBRW (mean time between rebooting Windows). So a lot of cpu time gets wasted. Oh well, I guess that\'s how things are, in Testing Land. |

Either your sessions are taking a really long time... Or you installation of Windows really sucks! Click here to see My Detailed BOINC Stats ![]() |

![]() 14 seconds to render on a Geforce 8500 with no extra settings in Gelato. 1 minute by maxing out every setting (16 levels of ray trace, Ambient occlusion, etc). Conclusion: Gelato is still in its infancy and a better Blender Gelato exporter is needed. Methinks Gelato is more Maya friendly at the moment. Gelato |

Is that supposed to be a frame from 450? Still, it will be very exciting to see Blender/Gelato working together in the future... Yet another processor to produce BOINC credit! Click here to see My Detailed BOINC Stats ![]() |
