An oriental sword & helm on a grassy hill

This scene was primarily created as a particle grass experiment. The sword and helm have been part of the scene since the beginning. The lousy tree in the background was added to fix the visual (aesthetic) weight after a last-minute aspect ratio change. I\'m planning to apply heavy focal blur in post, which will hopefully hide the tree. @Janus: I\'m slightly concerned about the particle settings... if the animated grass (done via IPO texture translation) is a problem then please cancel the session -- without the animated particles this is essentially a static image. Thanks to everyone for helping out!

resubmitted at correct resolution

The former file (session 629) was unfortunately set to render at only 50% resolution. I am sorry for wasted resources. I think that this one is all right set and will render at the full resolution.

Sphere vs. Tower

A metal shere crashes a tower of glass blocks. The AO gives a nice red shine on the ground.

This started out as a sequencer and effect test but ended up as a full blown music video

I started working on this last weekend in attempt to learn how to use the sequencer in combination with distributed computing. It took about 6 hours to make and animate the 3030 frames, 140 days to render (2 with BURP, hehe). It's a 720x520@25fps video file. One of the reasons for the extremely large rendertime is the level of detail (6) in the reflections as well as OSA being set to 16 and the use of radiosity - and of course the number of reflecting items in the scene... There is no postpro except from what is directly available in Blender. The soundtrack has been added afterwards using MEncoder and everything was produced using merely opensource software. A great thanks goes to the participants of BURP for helping out.
