Current bugs and known problems
Currently we know of the following bugs in the clientside code (listed by priority):
- Using the sequencer in Blender may cause it to reset any BURP-related settings (like split), causing the session to fail or become very expensive in regard to performance.
- Adjusting the computer clock backwards will crash running workunits
- The "maximal no-progress-threshold" is too low in some situations
- Progress can sometimes go from 0 to 98% more than once (including negative progress just when switching) due to layers
- Fluid simulations made in Blender as external files are not supported because BURP doesn't support inclusion of external files yet.
- Using movies as textures isn't supported in the Blender patchset code
- Using subsurface scattering in a session where each frame is split into multiple parts causes rendering artifacts.
Problems marked with * have been fixed and the fix will be included in the next client release.
The CATS BURP utility have the following limitations in the current version:
- Fatal error: Does not work at all with BURP v.3 yet
- Resume/Suspend download doesn't do anything
- Only %sid, %fid, %f4id, %stitle, %ftype syntax strings supported so far
- Proxy settings are not put into effect regardless of setup
- "Settings" leads to nowhere useful
- The tool does not detect if a different file with the same filename and directory path is actually the correct image. It will be overwritten if the size is smaller than that of the real image or kept if the size is larger.
- Slashes in the default storage path goes both backwards and forwards on Windows systems.
- It is possible to run multiple simultaneous instances of CATS
The following bugs are known (listed by priority):
- If the network fails (or computer is suspended) during download of an image that image may stall. Restarting CATS resumes the download
