CSS Truck Turntable
Renders each fram in 1.5 to 2 hours on personal computer, sending to distribution so can continue other parts of the completed animation (a race track with building, 43 semi trucks and 6 other vehicles) while only sending the parts I need to to distribution

Thanks Janus. Is it possible only to ask for Blender work? I asked for work & I got a job from 1491. I'm guessing it's going to take roughly 18 to 24 hours real time. I'd like to contribute to the smaller session evan though I have a I7 980X @ 3.43Ghz

Easiest way to do that right now would probably be through the anonymous platform. Once we are done with Sunflower it will also be available through the project settings on the website (in case we ever do something similar again).

OK thanks how do I run Burp through an anonymous platform? I'm using Boinc 7.0.31

I already tried it with an app_info.xml also on one of my comps with lesser RAM, but it doesn't seem to work correctly, it got no Blender-WUs. Will try some tweaks tomorrow after the PG-challenge again, maybe I missed something.

(in case we ever do something similar again).

I hope so. If the event is finished I'm sure the work flow will drop rapidly here, since all Blender-users mostly render their stuff over on Renderfarm.fi now.

This session was:

  • uploaded as using 768MB of memory. During tests it seemed to use closer to 16GB of memory during scene building and preparations and hence took quite a while to test. Not that many hosts have more than 16GB of memory on the farm. Consider using slightly less memory in any future sessions.
  • Set to use 128 parts per frame. Since the most of the rendertime was spent loading in the scene and building the raytree I switched that back to 1 part per frame to avoid too much overhead.
