Why is this job not sending multiple frames to render at a time? Since it is not threading, it is not utilizing my other cores.

There have been previous Blender 4.79 jobs that have run multiple tasks on my cpu, as a note against it being my settings.

Thanks,
NEO

I'm taking a educated guess here. I think the reason why you have only been sent one frame to work on is because each frame requires around 12 gig of RAM. Since you only have 16 gig of RAM in your machine another frame would bring your system to its knees.

First thank's for your performance. I don't know the answer, too. But I think you can change your settings to fix that.

I am seeing the same thread. I have 4 tasks running, all are single threaded. Why is this job not multi-threaded?

The only job that has a multithreaded application is the Sunflower sessions. All of the blender sessions have always only run one task per core/thread

Ah! That explains it. I thought I read somewhere that the sunflower is all that was going to be used anymore, or at least for a very long time. I must be mis-remembering.

One thing I would be interested to know is why does this session require 12.6 GB of RAM are the lots of layers to this session?

Another problem: BOINC will download 4 of these, and then try to run all 4 at once. This is on a machine with 16gb, so you see the problem. Everything locks up for about a minute, then the tasks fail. I am not sure where the problem is. BOINC should start one, with the rest paused "waiting for memory". But that's not happening.

Sunflower is taking/going to take a long time, but other (regular) sessions are running concurrently.

I just watched a single task take 14.9 gb of RAM. Nothing else running but BOINC and the OS. No other BOINC tasks either. If the server is looking for 12gb of RAM, it is not looking for the right value.
