Hi all: I have less than 512mb memory, and I am trying to get work - but I get the message no work sent - not enough memory.

3/26/2008 11:05:53 AM|BURP|Message from server: No work sent
3/26/2008 11:05:53 AM|BURP|Message from server: Your computer has 511 MB of memory, and 512 MB is needed

However ther are seesions available (#726) that only require 128mb - Why isn\'t work from that session sent?

I have 512 mb ram installed, so with windows losses less is available for programs. I am getting the same error messages and am not receiving work from either our continuous background project (726) or from 729, both of which have less demanding requirements. I can understand at this point not receiving work for 729, which is almost complete and may not have work to give out, but shouldn\'t we(Mark Reiss and I) be getting work from the background task since we cannot help with the current large file?

Yes.

This is unfortunately a limitation of the current work scheduler (ie. a higher priority session can cause lower priority low-RAM sessions to be pushed out of the render queue temporarily causing starvation of low-RAM systems). The problem is being fixed in the next version of the server backend - but big changes like this simply take a while to get working, I\'m sorry.

You can read more about it here.
For more about current limitations that will be raised in the next version have a look at the beta brainstorm page.
