Any news on this? Haven't updated yet?

Several issues were discussed in this thread, which are you experiencing?

If you're having issues getting BURP running successfully on Linux, try native mode. Discussed here: http://burp.renderfarming.net/forum_thread.php?id=2312

Basically creating a directory called "native". You should also make sure you have all the required libraries installed, the easiest way to do this is install the actual Blender software.

edit: I looked up your logs, and indeed, you need to enable "native" mode for them to render properly. Create a directory called "native" in /var/lib/boinc-client/projects/burp.renderfarming.net/

from terminal:
cd /var/lib/boinc-client/projects/burp.renderfarming.net/
sudo mkdir native

Install Blender from the Ubuntu software center.

Brilliant!! I had some challenges installing Blender but all it really needed was patience.

I now have a task @5% after 25 minutes instead of WUs crapping out after 35 seconds. So this seems to work.

Thanks, funkydude!!

Hello everyone (and Janus),

I've been away from the project for several years. I've finally gotten around to setting up a few machines and came across this same issue (new kernels not compatible with the blender loader). Rendering only works if I don't use blender_ld.

I tried creating a new app_info.xml to use anonymous platform, but I get the following error...

BURP: Notice from server
This project doesn't support computers of type anonymous
Sun 27 Dec 2015 07:39:59 PM EST

Is there something you can do on the server to allow anonymous platform? Or is it not supported on purpose?

Thanks.

Sorry. I just figured out that this is resolved by using native mode.

Glad to be back. Thanks for native mode Janus.
