It seems the "Edit" button disappears after some time.
I prefer having the ability to edit my posts at any time.
Will that ever happen ?

It's BOINC server software standard that a normal user can edit his own post for an hour, you will find that on every project forum around.
If you want to edit your posts forever you need either mod or admin rights. ;-)
