Actually you can use the new vector blur, or the old one.

That\'s why Janus doesn\'t spend any time on fixing this minor issue - using the new Blender the percentage shown should be correct. However we still use an old version but I think Janus will try to have a look on it since session 201 was rendered with errors.

Exactly - and I\'m getting very good progress (hehe) from the very newest Blender version. They have made a lot of improvements to the rendercode since I last had a talk with Ton (the main dev) about it.
Most importantly it is now possible to read off the motionblur factor and use it to calculate the proper progress percentage - no matter what motionblur type is used.
In other words it should be a whole lot more easy to figure out how far a WU actually is.

There\'s actually a very high probability of seing the new renderer already today. The mirrors are warming up and the local compile farm CPUs are already glowing hot with compiling the final in-house tested windows client right now for release purposes.

I\'ll see if I can get the linux version working as well, but no promises there.

The progress percentage \"jitter\" has been heavily reduced so that the figures showing in the BOINC client should now be a bit more sane.

Further discussions about the new client should be directed at the client forum.
