I have just had to ditch a WU it gets up to 97% and then starts again from zero, I have watched it do this 3 times before I ditched it

Edit: althought I have just read another thread that states this may be normal?

The restarting is a characteristic of workunits that I have seen for a while. They will recycle a few times and then finally complete, I have had several of this batch complete successfully after doing just that.

I have stopped with this batch for now it keeps making BOINC detach from the science app and stalling it

Interesting, I had that happen on the batch back at the beginning of Sept, but this batch so far have all run ok, 7 of 7 with 2 more currently in process, will watch and see if a detach occurs with the last 2 or any more that show up. Running BOINC ver 5.6.0 on all the machines in question.

The reason that this happens is that the .blend file has motion blur enabled, meaning that the frame is rendered up to 16 times before completing. This is perfectly normal for an animation with motion blur enabled. Janus is working on a method of making the progress report not keep resetting, but I think it still needs some changes to Blender itself.

I know that bits normal now but the 2nd post is not normal, whilst downloading another WU, BOINC just crashed ended up having to end its processes through task manager to get it to shut down and load back up again, it also kept losing its connection to localhost.

All is fine now its set to no new work
